December 2024 Park City Area Update

Deer Valley Opens a Week Early!

While Deer Valley typically opens the first Saturday of December, “everything aligned perfectly for an early opening day” said resort Director of Communications Emily Summers. The recent storm brought an even coat of white across the Wasatch with 5-6” of snow being reported from most high elevation weather stations. The sunny skies on opening day provided some welcome warmth to the cold temperatures and lots of families were happy to take advantage of the holiday weekend that excused them from work and school.

“This season is just the beginning of what’s to come, as we enhance our mountain experience while preserving excellent service and attention to detail our guests expect,” said Todd Bennett, president & COO of Deer Valley.

Single Family Homes in Park City (84060)

The Median Sales Price for single-family homes in Park City proper in November was $3,475,020, with 10 units sold. The Median Sales Price was 25.3% lower compared to October, and the number of closings was down 16.7% to 10. The Median Days on Market was up 134% at 117 days, and the Median Sold Price per Square Foot was $1,102 (down 8.9%).

There were 13 new single-family home listings in Park City proper, with 54 active listings currently on the market. This number of new listings was up 18.2%, while active inventory was down 14.3%.

Condos/Townhomes in Park City (84060)

The Median Sales Price for condos in Park City proper in November was $1,372,500 (up 37.3%) with 18 units sold. That is a 37.9% decrease in the quantity of closings compared to October. The Median Days on Market was 5 days (down 88.8%), and the Median Sold Price Per Sq. Ft. was $870 (down 0.4%).The number of new listings was down 18.8% compared to October. There were 13 new listings, with 49 current active listings on the market.
