August brings some of the best days of summer to Park City and Deer Valley, cool mountain mornings, long evenings, miles of trails to explore, and a full calendar of events throughout our mountain communities.

With the first day of school just around the corner, there’s still time to squeeze a little more fun out of summer in Park City. August offers plenty of ways to enjoy the final days of the season, from outdoor concerts and farmers markets to scenic chairlift rides, hiking and biking, afternoons at the Park City MARC, and family-friendly events throughout town.

One of Park City’s most anticipated summer traditions, the Kimball Arts Festival transforms Historic Main Street into a vibrant celebration of art, creativity, and community. The annual festival brings together talented artists from across the country, showcasing works in painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and more. Visitors can stroll Main Street while discovering one-of-a-kind pieces, enjoying live entertainment, food and drinks, and the lively atmosphere of downtown Park City. 

A favorite Deer Valley summer tradition, Hops on the Hill returns to Stein Eriksen Lodge every Tuesday through August 18. Set against the mountain views of the Flagstaff Deck, the evening pairs a rotating selection of Utah and visiting craft breweries with creative small bites prepared by Stein’s culinary team. The 21+ event runs from 6–8 p.m., with advance reservations highly recommended as evenings often sell out.

Spend an evening immersed in Park City’s vibrant creative scene with the Arts Experience at PC Fine Art. The event offers an opportunity to experience exceptional artwork in an inviting Main Street gallery setting while connecting with artists, collectors, and fellow art enthusiasts. It’s a wonderful way to add a little culture to an August evening and experience another side of Park City beyond its trails and mountains.

July’s single-family home sales show a varied market across the Wasatch Back. Within Park City limits, the median sold price was $3.7 million, down 17.8% from June, while Snyderville Basin climbed 18% to $2.5 million with 36 homes sold. Jordanelle posted the highest median at $4.23 million, although only four homes closed, while Kamas Valley reached $675,000, up 27.4%. Heber Valley recorded the most activity with 40 closed sales and a median price of $957,500, up 13%. Days on market increased across every area, reinforcing the importance of thoughtful pricing and strategy as buyers navigate more choices throughout the Wasatch Back.
